Dr. Vileka Fisher completed her doctorate in naturopathic medicine in June 2021 and became board certified in naturopathic obstetrics in December 2021. Since becoming licensed, Dr. Fisher has seen thousands of patients from Oregon and Washington for mental health care, primary care, and reproductive care across the lifespan.
They completed a one year residency at a busy patient centered primary care home located in Portland, Oregon in September 2022. As a resident physician, she provided primary care for all ages, psychiatric medication management, gender affirming care, reproductive care, and performed minor surgeries. Outside of clinical practice, she is an adjunct faculty member at Portland Community College and volunteers as a question writer for the North American Board of Naturopathic Examiners (the licensing exam for naturopaths in North America).
As a student, they accumulated 1200+ clinical hours in primary care and 1200+ clinical hours in naturopathic midwifery care, which includes prenatal care, attending births, postpartum care, neonatal care, pediatrics, and minor surgical procedures. In addition to her training to be a primary care physician and midwife, they have a master's degree in nutrition with a special emphasis on food relationships and nutrition for growing families.
She completed her bachelor’s degree in Health Science in Salem, Oregon at Corban University and was an active contributor for research and development in general and organic chemistry education.
She believes that the doctor-patient relationship is built on mutual respect, and that health is a journey, not a destination. Naturopathic medicine can be beneficial for all ages and all stages of life.
When she’s not doctoring, she is enjoying all the delicious food and drinks Portland has to offer, knitting, or is hanging out at home with her spouse, border collie, and two cats.
